Kent is a quiet suburban neighborhood in the Northwest quadrant of Washington, DC, which was long considered to be a part of the Palisades – Kent’s southern neighbor community. It is bounded by Loughboro Road to the north, MacArthur Boulevard to the southwest, and Chain Bridge Road and Battery Kemble Park to the southeast. Kent is an almost exclusively residential neighborhood, with some commercial development along McArthur Boulevard.
The majority of homes in Kent are Colonial-style single family residences, which were developed in the 1930s-40s. This area is home to some of the most expensive properties in the city with an average home sales price in 2012 of $1.7 million. Adjacent communities include the Palisades, Spring Valley, Wesley Heights and Berkley.
